Devatas are considered to be heavenly maidens.

The left one is holding lotus buds which represent purity and power.

The lotus, being rooted in mud, rises uncontaminated above the water to float as a beautiful blossom.

It is meant to be an inspiration for individuals to rise above the trying circumstances of life to find a deeper joy.
